Wrong Disk Space Reported

I have a 64GB SSD...windows is stating that i have used 51.8GB of disk space but when I select all of my folders and check Properties, it states that I am only using 25.6GB of space (I have Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives selected under Folder options so it should be selecting everything). Even if it doesnt select everything, a difference of 24GB is alot to be unaccounted for.

My recycle bin is empty.

My shadowstorage is set to a max of 2GB for my C: drive.

I can't find what is causing this difference. What am I missing?

Windows was allocating 16GB of disk space on my C: drive for Page File.

After disabling the page file, my free space went up to 19.8GB...any downside to doing this?

u need page file for some programs to run.

At least 512megs.

Thanks...I set the initial to 16MB and max to 4096 MB...

but yeah i have my pages set at 512megs.

System has 12gigs, so page file isnt important in my system.

However some old programs require a stupid page file, so having at least 512megs meets 99% of the programs requirements in page file.

Page file was used a while back when ram was uber expensive, and 256 or 512meg ram systems were common.
Now we see 4gigs as being average, 6 being normal on i7's, and 24gigs being max for consumers.

So page file is moot unless the stupid software requires it.
