Wrong CAS timings for my Corsair XMS?

I've been having stability problems with my system lately, and i just noticed when i bootup it shows 3-3-8-3, which is assoicated with my ram i believe. This is my Ram here, it says the Cas latency is supposed to be 2-3-3-6. So why would mine be different? I haven't messed with it, everything is on auto i think. I don't know much about this Memory stuff, but it seems like something is wrong. Is it?

My CPU is overclocked, not by much though.

Have you increased the FSB on the ram past it's standard specs? The ram could be programmed to default to those timings at, say, 201fsb.

Can you go into the BIOS and set the timings yourself? I have an MSI board and it is recommended by some on their support forum to set the timing instead of just using AUTO. I did for my coarsair memory and it works great. By the way, you are using an Athlon 64 so your recommended timings are 2.5,3,3,6 @ 1T. See the corsair site for more info:

cool, thanks. Where did you get those timings from though? I didn't see them on the site, not with the model i have anyways.

On the above corsair site look for CMX512-3200C2PT. Under the latency column for that memory it says 2-3-3-6*. Look below for the asterisk where it says:

* These parts support 2-3-3-6 latency on Intel platforms, and 2.5-3-3-6 latency on AMD platforms.

Just an FYI, you'll prolly want to do 2-3-2-10 on your NF3.

Or 2.5-3-3-10 with that particular RAM. You may be able to pull off 2-3-3-10 though, or even as low as 2-3-2-10. Or maybe you'll only be able to pull off 3-3-2-10...

Anyways, 2-3-2-10 is the fastest I can get ram to run on my DFI Lanparty, all things equal, so just a heads up there. (And no, I don't know -why- 2-3-2-10 is the fastest. I bought Ballistix to experiment with multiple fsbs and different timings at different voltages 😛. I think even AT mentioned something about 10 or 11 being the best to run ram at on an nForce-based platform.)

Don't think i can get tRP to 10, it only goes up to 07

Now running at 2.5-3-3-6, seems ok i guess. Didn't help my overclocking problem, i guess that's another story.

Should i be able to do 10 tRP? I see lots of other doing it, but like i said it only seems to go up to 07 on mine.
