wrong ammount of free disk space

I have 2 Operating systems in my computer. Win 98 and Win XP
I have a 40GB maxtor 7200rpm hard disk. (4 partitions)
win 98 is on drive C
win xp is on drive D

in win 98 free space on drive C is 2.5 GB. But in win xp it's 1.7GB

in win xp i have turned off the paging file in drive C.
DRIVE C - No paging file (VIRTUAL MEMORY) in win XP

WIN98 virtual memory - system managed size

If there's a way to get the right ammount of free disk space in winXP PLEASE TELL ME

Can you doubly check by right-clicking the drive in both operating systems, and left-click PROPERTIES. That should show a window with a circle and the specs/info about the hard drive you selected. Do this with both drives in both OS's and post back with the results.

i've checked it already.
But shows wrong ammount of free disk space in properties too. (in win XP)
In win 98 it's ok.

Can you try and change the virtual memory in Windows XP to another drive? Check the free space after that

i've checked it with dos
The ammount is equal with win xp.

So I think it wont be a problem anymore

Thanks everybody
