Writing violent fictional content now considered terrorism

Wow, just wow.

I guess we need to arrest Stephen King and Quentin Tarantino ASAP; obviously these two fiction writers are extremely dangerous.

I want to read what he wrote and who turned him in? I'm assuming the teacher?

Probably. The media went out of their way to put the Vtech shooting blame on the teachers who didn't realize that Cho was disturbed from his writing. Bunch of bullshit imho.

Is Tom Clancy deranged? Or Stephen King?

Read the article. His grandparents turned him in; they found his English class journal.

OMG... It was a short story about a Zombie Invasion at a school. Fuck everyone who posted in the "Zombie Invasion" threads we have here every so often are fucked. Have fun at Federal "Pound You in the Ass" Prison.

"My story is based on fiction," said Poole, who faces a second-degree felony terrorist threatening charge. "It's a fake story. I made it up. I've been working on one of my short stories, (and) the short story they found was about zombies. Yes, it did say a high school. It was about a high school over ran by zombies."

Even so, police say the nature of the story makes it a felony. "Anytime you make any threat or possess matter involving a school or function it's a felony in the state of Kentucky," said Winchester Police detective Steven Caudill.

This guy is 18 years old and should have his free speech protected. If what he says is true and it's a generic zombie story, the police department and the city should be censured for wasting time+money and sued for emotional damages.

I'd sooner die than go to prison, thank you.

Probably because I *would* die in prison 🙁

I knew freedom of speech was taken away a long time ago in the US, but, they are taking it WAY too far now. Hopefully he at least got an A for that trouble LOL.

about a year after the columbine attacks my school made us participate in a poetry competition, and to make us who didnt want to write...said it would also be for a quiz grade.

i wrote a poem about some kid with a gun pistol-whipping someone (making it very clear that he didnt shoot anybody)

i got sent to the principal's office and was given a failing grade on the poem :-/

this was a decade ago in a christian school, fwiw

"It didn't mention nobody who lives in Clark County, didn't mention (George Rogers Clark High School), didn't mention no principal or cops, nothing,"

Now we know why an 18 year-old is in jr high...

46 months isn't 50 years, but it's still BS nonetheless.

If this kid really did only write about a zombie attack and can find a good lawyer he will win in court. His story has to show that he had a plan to start killing kids in school. If it wasn't the name of any high school around and he doesn't have weapons that only helps his case.

I can't believe his grandparents turned him in! Wtf is that?
