i have a T.B. of dvd's apperently in raw format(gamebackups and data dvd's) that only my pioneer dvd drive (out of the five other brands of dvd drives i tried) can play or read i use nero to burn the disks and i cant seem to find an option in nero to change the data write to a more universal format. i mean first we have +R -R ect ect that only some players can read then of corse the region pal/ntsc crap and now i find out that i may have the only drive that can read a raw data dvd disk...what is this format new is that why other drives read the disk but dont read the files on the disks or is this a nero thing ...................these people who create new formats need to step away from the p.c and quit tweakin find one and stick with it because not everybody can afford to update there computer every two months.............so do i need to update my 8 month old dvd drive or do my friends need to update there brand new pcs

It doubtful that there is anything wrong with your drive or that it's out of date. The various modes and features all have their use. It's up to you to choose which to use based on features and compatability. Sounds like you just made a bad selection. Default settings tend to favor compatability so if in doubt, use the defaults.
