Writing a script to DL a video file, transcode it to MP4 and send it to my iPod

With the new video iPod out, I had an idea. Maybe some of you software writers coudl go in on a little business venture with me...

What if you could make a program that would interact with say....a bittorrent app, that would find and download the new episode of a specified TV show every week. THen it would transcode that TV show to an appropriate format the iPod video could handle, and then import to iTunes, and tell iTuens to auto update the iPod...

Is it do-able?

PSP Video 9 has a "PSP casting" feature that uses Bitcomet to download a file and then it reencodes the file to put on your PSP. It's pretty much exactly what you want, but for the wrong portable device. 🙂 There will probably be software to do this for the video iPod very soon though.

actually, if it was possible to chang ethe aspect ratio, it would probably work, cause PSP and iPod use the same video TYPE but not the same aspect ratio....

not sure on moving it to the Ipod, but the rest could easily be done in a scripting language such as perl, javascript, vbscript, etc. I'll write this, if you send me the Ipod to test it on 😀😀😀

I would seriously consider sending you and ipod to test it out on, as long as you send it back when you're done, in fact you can keep the iPod if you give me the rights....i would like the rogram to take advantage of x264 codec for h.264 finals.
