Writing a movie script - Have questions

So I decided I wanted to try to write a movie script. Not as a get rich kind of thing, but just to see if I can do it.

I've read some scripts, and the formatting of it seems pretty specific and techincal. Has anyone on here ever written scripts? Where would you suggest I start? Are there good guides to follow?

Or does software exist that does a lot of the proper formatting for me?

Any advice would be appreciated.
