Finally, let's see Heroes back on TV...WOOOOOO!!!

http://www.cnbc.com/id/23057002

A deal has been struck between the major media companies and the Writers Guild of America to end the writers' strike, former Walt Disney chief executive Michael Eisner revealed on CNBC.

"It's over," Eisner said. "They made the deal, they shook hands on the deal. It's going on Saturday to the writers in general."

Eisner, speaking live on CNBC's "Fast Money," seemed to hesitate initially about whether it was possible that the writers could still reject the agreement, but finally suggested the deal's acceptance was inevitable.

"A deal has been made, and they'll be back to work very soon," Eisner said, adding, "I know a deal's been made. I know it's over."

Eisner did not elaborate on terms of the agreement. He said he expects most of the media companies affected by the strike to have "small" write-downs as a result of the deal. Eisner said the deal was struck last Friday.

As a result of studio cutbacks, however, many of the writers who went on strike are unlikely to return to the same big-money contracts they'd had as individuals with the studios, Eisner said.

I'm not a big TV junkie, and many of the shows that ATOT salivates over I think are horribly stupid, but I'm glad to see the strike over so we can get rid of some of the horribly stupid shows that have replaced the horribly stupid shows...:D

Thats pretty much what I was thinking.
Now we can go back to the same old crap we were used to, as opposed the new crap we had these last few months.

Lost was written before the writers strike. So even if it wasnt over it would still have a full season.

I'm glad - even though I was hoping the Screen Actors Guild would join them on strike this summer just to see what would happen

Yeah, but it seemed like it was crappier crap than usual. Hopefully we can go back to just plain crappy :)

I thought they had only 8 episodes written?

I wonder how long it's going to take for us to get new shows in the pipeline? I mean, they need to get back to work, write and then film the episodes right? My guess is anywhere from 2-6 weeks. Anybody in showbiz care to comment?

You are correct. Lost hasn't been finished. They just decided to air what they had so far hoping the writers strike would end before the end of the season.

Ok, then why did you post here?

I can't wait for the new Heroes myself.

I don't care either,

And we post here because we have an opinion too, albeit one that differs from yours.

You're the stupid fuck. What's the percentage of the major media company's revenue they were asking for again? (I'll give you a hint - less than 1.) How many cents is 8 divided 4-8 ways? (Hint - no more than 2) What's the cost of running episodes online? (Hint - Not enough that the companies aren't still taking home half a billion after all is said and done.) What percentage of total revenue does the media make up in the parent corporations, movies and TV combined? (Hint - No more than 8.)

The main reason I'm glad it's over is because I'm tired of jackasses like you making asinine and baseless comments like the one above. The fact that you called the writers greedy is absolutely ridiculous and ironic when you consider the true statistics. Learn your information.

Maybe they can finally put some good writers to work on that Terminator series?
