Wrath of the Lich king (World of Warcraft) Poll

Hasn't really kept me excited because I have goals that I'm trying to reach currently, but I certainly eagerly await its arrival 🙂. Life in death awaits.

It has kept me excited to keep playing

I cant wait to have everything 'reset' if you will...nobody will have the top top gear...for a little bit at least.

I'm in beta and even though it is not finished and the server crashes every 20-30 min I am still having a ridiculous amount of fun so that should say something about it I think.

Having not played the game for over 5 months I logged on to a friends account for a few minutes yesterday. I started up a rogue alt that if I'm super crazy I will level towards 70 before/during wotlk release. I feel extremely dirty after being wow-free this long. The wotlk stuff looks amazing (talents, zones, etc), and I always told myself that I 'might' come back for the next expansion. Just not having a character sucks... I'm almost positive the 1-70 grind will make me quit again.

I have not played WoW in years, but I may return if they launch new nontransfer PvP-RP servers with this expansion pack.

Well, to be fair, I had to click on the thread to figure out what the hell WotLK was. 😀

fixed it just for you 😉

Topic Title: Wrath of the Lich king (World of Warcraft) Poll

Btw, is there a projected release date for WoTLK? Fall/winter 2008? If BC showed us anything, the release date doesn't mean squat. I'm curious anyway.

No to mention I can't honestly answer the question without entering the thread, only to find out the appropriate answer isn't even on the poll. 🙂

I don't really wanna play WoW for the raiding or pvp, but I like the questing and lvling of my toons. I might get WTLK a few months after release when they iron out the release bugs.

BC beta started in late September 07 and went retail in mid January 08. That's about 3.5 month of beta. I'm guessing they'll need more time for WTLK beta testing. So maybe Thanksgiving?

I'm just happy because Enh shammies are getting seriously buffed and the new warlock spells sound like fun (especially Haunt).

The best part is they're getting a PVP survival buff and a PVE damage output buff. The biggest problem enhancement shamans have is that they're just kited around or snared constantly. Once you break the snare with yer trinket, you're screwed as they'll just do it again. With the new Ghostwolf talent, you can just shapeshift to break the effects like a drood. Also, ghost wolves will have those stunning/snaring abilities to keep people in check.

LF WC4, no more of this WOW bullshit. The chances of that are nil though... WoW simply makes too much money. I don't know anything about Blizzard's internals, do we know if they have all of their WC3 people working on other projects already? It'd be great if they concurrently worked out WC4 and were still able to maintain WoW, but that would prevent them from making more WoW expansions, and they won't give up on that until they make WoW2. Oh well, I can still dream.

I started WoW when BC launched, got a few lvl 70s, didn't like PvP, enjoyed raiding for awhile but got sick of the steep difficulty curve, so I quit. I expect WotLK will be more of the same, so I won't be returning. There is something to be said for making all of the end-game content accessible to 10-man groups though... I really think that's a step in the right direction, since I was only really interested in seeing the story, but got so little story in those damned raids.

Maybe I'd start it again if I didn't work 9-10 hour days 😛

Might come back for it, but once I hit 80 I will probably hate it.

I will definitely take my time to 80 though compared to how fast I went from 60 to 70 after I bought BC

I do know that one of lead creators (forgot his name) of the lore that we see in all of the WC games has been writing new material. He has been interviewed where he was basically asked if the new material would be used in future game titles in which he responded by saying something like, "Well, I am not writing this stuff for nothing!"

Of course, that is not a guarantee that it will be used in WC4, but I wouldn't give my hopes up either. The WC series is very popular beyond WoW and Blizz loves it still. We will see WC4 some day. They just happen to have their hands very full right now.

BC was horrible in the grinding aspect. Vanilla WoW had grinding, but quite a bit of it was essentially optional. Also, I'm not too sure what you mean by steep difficulty curve... it's harder than vanilla, but that's probably a good thing.

Wow, communism knows no bounds. What do you care what other people have in a video game?

Just like real life, the rich will get rich again, and everyone in T6 now will be in T9 in a matter of weeks or months.

I'd actually be interested in what the development chart says on the wall in the blizz presidents office as to when they think it will be time to switch to WoW2.

Just like with Starcraft, that's going to be a very hard if not impossible thing to do.

Even Diablo games are never better so much as just more of the same, only new and improved.

Blizzard makes damn good and polished games, I'd hate to be responsible for designing their sequels.

Dude...it's a video game. Chillax. I don't think the phrase, "comparing apples with oranges" could possibly apply more than it does in this case. As long as there is fun involved it doesn't matter. Plus, I kind of understand where Vivi is coming from. The game gets interesting in a unique way when things "reset" even if for only a short period of time until it balances itself out again. There is nothing wrong with enjoying that.

They should have made it a Warcraft III expansion instead. That would be fantastic.

Um, there is one. It's called Frozen Throne, and that is the basis for the lore going into Wrath of the Lich King.

Personally, I left last summer (partly from burnout) with the intention of returning for the next expansion 🙂
