where is the data WPCREDIT reads/sets? When does this get written? Where do the values come from? I'm trying to mess with some settings that I don't think are meant to be changed.... so I need to figure out where they can be changed (like the BIOS image, resistors on the motherboard, etc). thanks.

I think it could be stored in the cmos, much like bios themselves. I mean bios is just a kind of gui for the register which are controllable by the user. I got to say that I am just guessing

well, the problem is, it won't write to certain locations... and I want to figure out where those get set. one example is bus divider.

Not every register is reset-able after it came out of production line. Sometime they tend to disable it completely for unknown purpose, such as stability, or other issues.

right... but it has to get the setting from somewhere. Where would that be?
