Actually, I believe MS did revoke an app at one point. Wonder if I can find the notes on WPCentral.

Are you referring to ImageWhirl? Engadget made a big deal when that got yanked, I downloaded it when the story came out, and it still works to this day...I just wouldn't be able to download it again if I did a hard reset.

I saw the "this item has been revoked" thing once, ironically for a dev copy if own of my own apps, not something from the marketplace. It happened after K installed Mango, and the app worked fine after I uninstalled and reinstalled it. I think non-marketplace software just gets screwed up when you do a major OS install - its not necessarily an instance of Microsoft revoking the app from afar.

I've been playing around with mango a lot and I'm really impressed with how much better scrolling is for 3rd party apps in the beta build. It makes a huge difference using the phone, in NoDo the first party apps ran so smooth but 3rd party apps had really inconsistent and laggy scrolling. Not sure what MS did to fix this but it makes the phone feel even more like a unified experience now. I was comparing it to my IP4 last night and was pretty surprised to see the scrolling was much smoother in mango, especially in apps where the lists are loading pictures like netflix or imdb.

Just to update this thread. I saw that the final release version of Mango had leaked out yesterday so I went ahead and updated my Arrive to it. It adds in a few more minor features, but more importantly, everything seems a little faster than it already was. Especially in IE9. Plus a couple of the bugs I had been finding are gone now too.

The biggest miss of Mango to me is the lack of IM integration into the client. There's still only Windows Live and Facebook Chat options built in. Why they didn't add Google chat or Yahoo Messenger is beyond me.

In any case, I'm still quite pleased with my phone and w/ Mango.

Well, I bought a HTC Trophy (Verizon version) off ebay and am updating it to the final release version as I type :)

Only had it for a few days with NoDo but it's already a super slick OS. Can't wait to see how much Mango smoothes out the wrinkles.

I want a Nokia WP7 phone on Verzion please :(

The latest rumor is that Nokia will be launching 3 Windows phones in the USA. There will be a high-end device going to Verizon, and mid-range devices going to AT&T and T-Mobile. I may just have to jump ship from T-Mobile to Verizon next year depending on what happens with the acquisition thing . . .

No word on Sprint, but I wouldn't be surprised if they get one too. Sprint likes to announce new devices at their own events and put as much of their own "branding" on it as possible.

I think I'll be switching out my Samsung Focus for the new HTC Titan when it comes out next month.

I'm trading in my Surround. I love Mango (running RTM) and I'm stoked for the bigger screen and front facing camera (should be great with Lync and Skype).

Yeah, I think the built in Skype video will be pretty cool. I'm afraid to trick my Focus into updating to Mango for fear that it'll never get normal updates again.

When you do an update, it backs up your current state. You'll just have to restore back to that point before doing the official update.

I really don't care enough to mess with it. Like I said, in a month I'll be able to just buy an HTC Titan, and my Focus can go on the old phone shelf. The Titan doesn't use micro sd cards does it?

The MicroSD cards in WP7 devices aren't like how they are with Android or really anything else. They aren't removable storage. If you pull them the data is inaccessible.

Put the RTM version of Mango on my Trophy last night...it's pretty sweet so far.
Do wish it just had drag and drop over USB though.

I know. Just wondering if the HTC Titan will be able to use this SD card or not. I realize the data will be lost.

Most likely you can swap out the SD card for a larger one without causing any issues. I'd be concerned about the performance difference though, the new ones may be faster cards :)

Eh, looked it up, the HTC Titan has 16g of fixed flash memory. No micro SD slot.

What's the deal with Turn by Turn Navigation guys? The stock app seems to be quite poor going by reviews. Is MS planning to update it or integrate with Nokia?

It has a few UI oddities, but works well enough for me. I have not seen any info or rumors about them updating it, but I'm sure they will.

For the life of me I can't figure out why you have to tap the screen to make it scroll to/say the next direction. If it automatically did that like every other navigation software on the planet, it would be fine...
