WoW's Patching System

I'm using Shaw cable Internet and they've limited P2P traffic like BT. They installed a traffic shaper which gives BT the lowest priority leaving me with an upload speed of a few kilobytes a second. Using the "Disable peer to peer file transfer" isn't very fast either.

I'm lucky I found the first patch on a website somewhere or else it would have taken me a good half a day to download. I know this patching system seems like a good idea, but I also believe other ISPs will do the same to their P2P traffic.

Anyone else in the same boat as me?

WoW's patching system needs to go. This is NOT was bittorrent is intended for. You need seeds for bittorrent to work well. A patching system where no one seeds after it finishes download, and it even allows disabling of upload totally, defeats the purpose and of bittorrent. I was fine with this in beta, but there is absolutely zero reason for this system to be in place when I am paying $15/month. These guys seriously need to get on the ball and fix what is broken.

Adam, Tenchim, thanks for the link. The Blizzard downloader was never a problem for Battlenet, I don't know why they had to go changing it for WoW.
