The Christian Post goes with killing the messenger-

Didn't even mention The actual charges of impeachment, of course, just raved on about elitists & conspiracy theory shit-

One of their editors resigned in protest-

Meanwhile, these guys need their own private jets, cuz they can't fly in a tube filled with demons, AKA the rest of us-

That editorial addresses a comment the author of the CT article made three years ago and essentially ignores the contents of the article it criticizes.

How many different ways can conservatives find to ignore or deflect over Trump? The entire response of the right in relation to Trump is just one giant ad hominem.

FEAR NOT

FEAR NOT

KANYE TO THE RESCUE :

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat
Theeeeeeeeeeee
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Kanye is very religious about the almighty dollar. Thanks to sucking up to Trump he has found a market that never would have bought his shit before.

That ass threatened to run for POTUS once. Can you imagine that pig ass K-thing as First Whore?
I can't imagine him at all. I saw a clip or two on TV some months ago, but don't remember. I don't try to keep abreast of everything happening in popular culture. My cultural IQ is pretty low compared to most Americans, I think. Well, that varies tremendously, obviously, but many people have a sense of knowing all the celebrities. I don't pay much attention unless maybe something/someone gets my attention. I have plenty on my plate without having to be trendy.

I hope "ChristianPost" pays all taxes that are due and honestly reports all of their advertising revenue as income--because this clearly is not a religious organization. It's a political front. LoL--look at them crowing about constitutional law and legal principles--I thought only god's law matters?

Evangelicals are pretty fucked up people.

They legitimately do not believe in Christ's teachings. Their view is that since they claim to be Evangelical, they are good to go... oh, and white old guys. As long as they are old white guys claiming to be Evangelical, they are good to go.

They don't believe in, respect or acknowledge Jesus Christ.

They hold the idea of Jesus up to cover their true intentions; lie, to hurt and harm you by taking your money and relinquishing your life to their control. Evangelicals hold power and money - and they got it by manipulating people into handing it over to them.

Look at how their leaders behave:
Check out the 2:05 mark - is this normal behavior?

And, she isn't lying, here is the full video of his comments;

Kenneth Copeland is the embodiment of legitimate evil. And his body language, actions, behavior and temperament is just spewing evil.

And why does he behave this way? To justify his purchasing of a private jet, all the while degrading people who are not him. Evangelicals' goals are to degrade people. They are not here make your lives better. They are here to lie to you, to get your money and make their own lives better.

So, I don't give a flying fuck what this latest publicity stunt's "message" is from the Evangelicals. Because they did it to increase subscriptions to their paper; https://www.newsweek.com/christiani...donald-trumps-removal-office-magazine-1478899, not right any wrongs.

They have the money, power and influence to shut down Trump. And all they did was support him through his campaign and let him run free and wild. The latter being that he is like one of them; someone who just wants to take your money and screw you over.

This was nothing more than a grab to get attention and money - period. These greedy devil pigs have no intentions of fixing anything.

That's not really fair. If you haven't actually read the editorial, you should-

There are yet people of conscience among Evangelicals. Their efforts to help their fellows see the light should not be diminished. Quite how anybody could imagine they could follow Trump through the gates of Heaven is a mystery to me.

Eh, this is going no where with Evangelical 'leaders'. They just doubled down. Trump/Pence is giving them what they want, more so than any other administration in recent history.

Followers - sure.

Leadership - I am waiting. Just as I am waiting for the GOP.... to denounce and stop racism, sexism, violence and treason from their camps.

How is it that Al Franken gets thrown out within weeks of his revealed behavior, yet there are decades worth of corruption, immoral behavior and a slew of high crimes from the Right & Religious in America?

Yeah the evangelical part of his base is not going away... The majority of them will vote for him next time too. I think the small cracks won't spread unfortunately.

No.

There have been two articles from Christianity Today, the one that you linked - Trump Should Be Removed from Office and a followup - The Flag in the Whirlwind: An Update from CT’s President.

Here are the most relevant quotes from two Christianity Today articles, read them carefully:
To use an old cliché, it’s time to call a spade a spade, to say that no matter how many hands we win in this political poker game, we are playing with a stacked deck of gross immorality and ethical incompetence.
we feel compelled to say that the alliance of American evangelicalism with this presidency has wrought enormous damage to Christian witness. It has alienated many of our children and grandchildren. It has harmed African American, Hispanic American, and Asian American brothers and sisters. And it has undercut the efforts of countless missionaries who labor in the far fields of the Lord. While the Trump administration may be well regarded in some countries, in many more the perception of wholesale evangelical support for the administration has made toxic the reputation of the Bride of Christ.
[Let me protect against two misunderstandings. The problem is not that we as evangelicals are associated with the Trump administration’s judicial appointments or its advocacy of life, family, and religious liberty. We are happy to celebrate the positive things the administration has accomplished. The problem is that we as evangelicals are also associated with President Trump’s rampant immorality, greed, and corruption; his divisiveness and race-baiting; his cruelty and hostility to immigrants and refugees; and more.
We nevertheless believe the evangelical alliance with this presidency has done damage to our witness here and abroad. The cost has been too high.
We hold fast to our view that the wholehearted evangelical embrace of Trump has been enormously costly . . .

The two editorials make it clear as day that evangelicals knew they were electing profoundly immoral conman, but they did it anyway to score points "in this political poker game". And the only reason they're backpedaling now is not because they suddenly realized they made a deal with the devil. They are backpedaling because of societal blowback, they're backpedaling because this alliance "has alienated many of our children and grandchildren", Trump's "administration has made toxic the reputation of the Bride of Christ", because now "evangelicals are also associated with President Trump's rampant immorality, greet, and corruption", it's because the "cost [to evangelicals] has been too high".

This is no remorse, this is politically calculated move to ditch Trump because they got their judges and now they need to minimize perception damage.

Sorry. No. They are not people of conscience.

Make no mistake, if a Liberal / Democrat did something heinous, he/she is done.

When a Conservative / Republican does something heinous (which is very common), he/she (well, more he than she...) is defended tooth and nail. The constitution is even thrown out!

Nailed it.

I just have to drop this here in context of the discussion:

The then current poll from 10/16 was taken right after the Access Hollywood tape came out.

30% to 72% in just five years. Who has ever heard of a 42 point shift in opinion in one discrete group in such a short period of time?

The level of cognitive dissonance among American evangelicals in relation to Trump is astounding.

I don’t think it’s cognitive dissonance, they were just lying when they claimed to care about it.

“Perverting” religion... implies there ever was a “pure” version of same. I suggest there never was. Sugar coat it all you will, its a concept of power to wield over people. I mean as a species it was a necessity to bring order to our ever growing ranks... I mean after WW3, sticks and stones and all that, its gonna be religion we flock to again... and bastard power seeking preachers that will direct us.
I think.

Well, duh about the purity bit. There's a joke that goes roughly like this: Jesus says to the angles that's he is going to sacrifice his like for the salvation of sinners and then put them in charge of his church on earth to continue his ministry. The angels look around for a bit and then one pipes up and asks 'what's plan B?'.

Human beings are fundamentally broken creatures. Far too many layered and conflicting motives, both conscious and unconscious.

So by perverted, I mean wholly consumed by selfish intent - which is precisely opposite of the foundation laid by Christ and the apostles.

I think the "foundation laid by Christ and the apostles" is the product of a days long brainstorming session on "how to make these monkies live side by side without killing eachother" .. what is the saying "Religion is the opium of the people"? Again a necessity. Non the less a power play.

wesome power play by the apostles then, all but one was killed.

No it isn’t. Gritting the weak is a perversion of Christianity. Sadly, perverting religion for power, money and control has been in vogue for thousands of years.

Christianity is a perversion of other religions. It was never pure.
