any recommendations on a telescope in the ~$100 range?

i was watching the pbs special, talking about asteroid impacts and got me sorta thinking about getting one.

walmart has a bushnell 3" x 612 power telescope with the following specs:

Aluminum-coated, 3-in primary mirror
Aluminum tripod
Vertical, micro-adjustment control
4-mm and 20-mm eyepieces
Metal yoke mount
3.5x barlow lens

not looking for anything too fancy.. but i remember someone saying get at least a 4.5" one..
