Such a huge difference sense Opera doesn't seem to have a memory leak problem at all. Yes I seen it go up to 400 to 500 MB + but it always drops back to down to a more reasonable 200 to 300 MB after closing a lot of the tabs. Sometimes a little less. Firefox once it got to 400 to 500 MB + would stay at that and never go down. Plus it would start to get sluggish around that mark. Sooner or later it would crash from using to much memory once it uses 900 MB +

Maybe Opera is faster than plain vanilla FF, but with Adblock Plus, I've found nothing yet that is as fast (or even close) as FF. FF, with AdBlock+, just kicks the crap out of anything else that I've run it against.

The thing with Opera is that everything is built in. You don't need Adblock Plus because you have the ability to remove ads with Opera.

Ah, maybe I need to take another look at it then. Thanks.

I hear you about the plugins .I could not survive without Download helper. If only a free program like this worked as good in IE or Opera.

I'd use Opera full time, but for some reason, there are a few websites that I need to log into that Opera absolutely refuses to work with.

Which sites are those?

Hardforum and Demonoid. I also believe that admuncher isn't W7 compatible yet, been waiting on that for a while.

Well, there seems to be a honeymoon period when using a new browser for the first time. It always seems great until you start doing/adding more things. Then it slows down, is missing a essential function, or you become annoyed with the UI. I am not bashing Opera in particular, as it has been on my system for years. On the other hand, it is not my primary browser.

It is just download the beta version of it. http://www.admuncher.com/beta.pl

Just have to go to ad muncher's chat forums and click on the windows 7 support topic. Been compatible for a long while now!

I'll give it another go with Opera. Every time I have tried it in the past though I quickly switched back to FF. We'll see how it goes this time.

The problem is that most sites aren't designed to work with Opera. Opera was one of the first browsers to be fully web compliant yet websites are designed to work with browsers such as IE and Firefox. So that is why some sites don't work with Opera. I use Opera full time and only use Firefox when a site doesn't work with Opera. I love the Speed Dial, Mouse Gestures, and Sessions. Yes you can duplicate them with plugins, but knowing that it is all built into Opera makes me want to use Opera.

Demonoid seems fine for me with Opera.

Don't forget the "trash can".
