Ok, is this thread directed at ALL Christians? Just some Christians? Or just the ones that appreciate being called bad words?

I wasn't attempting to insult all of Christianity, just those who think like those in that hell of a fvked up video.

Edited.
i don't know if I am more confused by your posting a thread that is insulting but claiming that is not your intent, or by the potty mouth way you did it.
It was my intent to insult a group which obviously (at least to me and others I know) needs insulting.

Potty mouth? I use profanity to emphasize the insult. I assumed that most Christians consider themselves a follower or a servant as opposed to a slave (or even worse, a b!tch as is the slang term). Sorry if I offended someone outside of the targeted group. Seeing that video just makes me want to knock some sense into those... "people".

Apology accepted... but it was not just the thread title. You seemed very angry and your posts were littered with unnecessary profanity. No matter who it was directed towards, it does not flatter you or help make your point. From reading many of your other posts, I know that you are more intelligent than to have to resort to that.

:)

<Lewis black esque fit of rage>Oh NO! The potty mouth! Mommy, mommy, the scawy man used a bad word!!!</Lewis black esque fit of rage>

Sometimes expletives are an important and useful tool in expressing oneself, as well as venting anger. As long as used appropriately, there is no shame in them.

Oh no, somebody said poopy!

Edit: In fact, in celebration of anger, I'm going to say it. ******.

Thank you. Hence the more targeted profanities have not been edited out.

There is a huge difference between using an occasional expletive for emphasis and going off on a long potty mouth rant. And there is a time and place for both.

Don't you think?

There is such a thing as a professional setting. If you used expletives as commas in professional conversations it makes you appear angry and rash, something you don't want. BUT if you are aware of the connotations of the words you use, as most ATers are, things like an online rant are the IDEAL place for expletives.

I daresay none.

Not all would agree. But I supposed that might explain different definitions of respectful behavior and class.

A bar full of guys is appropriate. A board of men, women and underage kids might not be the ideal place.

:)

Afraid your dainty ears might get singed? I seriously doubt that there are any kids younger than 12 on this board at any time of the day, much less after midnight. And if you believe any children over the age of 12 have not been exposed to expletives much worse and more frequent than anything on this board, either:

a) You haven't been to a middle school in the last 80 or so years
or
b) You are being dishonest with yourself.

Sorry to be so harsh, but I'm not a fan the morality police. I totally understand and support the logic of making this place SFW, but there is an easy to define line between reasonable and unreasonable, and it's just on this side of attacks against people's race / gender / sexual preferences.

Did you actually just say "potty mouth"?

The word "potty" is extremely offensive to me.

You should change how you talk so it's not offensive to me.

I thought it helped make his point (his anger). And I don't think he was attempting to be flattered.

Maybe it is my age, perhaps my gender... dunno... but I don't think it is ok for kids to be subject to unnecessary foul language. I would hazard a guess that it might just be a contributing factor to many of them being out of control. And call me old fashioned, but as a woman, I am not thrilled with it either. Again, expletives as an occasional emphasis is not the same as intentional ranting with a foul mouth. I am known to occasionally do the former, but see nothing good in the latter. And no, I have not been in a middle school in more than 30 years. I do not think that a potty mouth makes one look cool or intelligent. Just the opposite. It detracts from the point that is trying to be made.

I do not take you as harsh. It has nothing to do with morality. I think there is a time and place for all types of behaviour. And I do believe that tptb on this site have determined that if it is not acceptable to say in front of someone's mother, wife/girlfriend, sister or granny, it is not acceptable to do here.

I am not trying to sound like a prude. I certainly am not uptight at all. But I think it is just really weird that foul language should be considered the norm and my remarking that it is not cool gets jumped on.

But to each his own. We will agree to disagree.

Peace.
:)

I'm catholic. I play in a christian rock band for the youth every sunday ( we play mostly classic rock covers, just add christian lyrics). I consider myself moderately strong in my faith. I'm definitely no saint, but I try my best to care for and respect others, as well as myself.

What these people are doing in that video is just insane and sick. I mean speaking in tongues?? build a army for god?? Speaking in tongues is in the bible, but the way they are using it (as well as alot of crazy christians these days) is definitely not christ like. I lol'd when they had the camera rolling while she edited that text on her computer "I know theres a bloody looking font in here somewhere."

Religion is about choice. Whether you want to accept god into your life or not is entirely your decision. People that raise their kids like this are not giving them that choice, its completely out of the question for them not to believe. I just hope none of these kids make it into any sort of political position later on in life.
