Wow @ UNC/Tennessee Bowl Game!

Tenn players are dumb. They could not hold their composure otherwise they could have possibly held on to win.

So someone want to explain the end of regulation real quick?

Nice catch by UT.

First of all, Tenn missed an extra point late that would have made it 21-17. UNC gets the ball and drives, there's a blatant spear by Tenn after an incredible catch that gave them a good chunk of yards. Then on 1st or 2nd down with no time outs UNC gets it to like the 30 with 16 seconds left and decides to do a quick run play, it got some good yards but as the QB goes to spike it the FG unit comes onto the field and basically all hell breaks loose. They end up spiking it JUST before the clock hit zero and took a penalty for having too many men on the field, but at the time they ended the game and everyone was coming onto the field, but they reviewed it and UNC got a chance to make the FG and they did. Had to see it though, was a crazy drive.

Finally, something goes in my favor. I've already had 5 games in my pickem be losses of 3 or less. Turnovers are killing me

That's two times this season that Dooley has won a game only to have it taken away due to some craziness at the end.

Anyone else think it's awful that college doesn't have a run off? It boggles my mind to think they can just take a 5 yard penalty with no time outs and 1 second on the clock.

What's wrong with your brain? He legally snapped the ball and took a penalty. The problem in the Tenn vs LSU game was all Tenn's fault except for the lack of a unsportsmanlike penalty for the thrown helmet. This game Tenn did it to themselves with stupid penalties and missing a PAT.

This game proves that B1G officials suck ass 🙂

And "The Salute" earlier today.

Tenn lost because of several key areas (after the missed PAT):

1. Could not make the first down to run out the clock.
2. Punter did not angle it so NC would be stuck in the 5 yard line instead of 20 yard.
3. 15 yards penalty for hitting the receiver with the helmet.
4. Almost got another 15 yards penalty for hitting the downed runner late.
5. Did not pile it on the runner at the end to run down the clock, ie. at the end of Penn State vs. LSU last year at Capital 1 Bowl.

None of what you wrote really addresses why there should be a run off in college football.

None of your post addresses why there should be a run off. He snapped the ball and spiked it. That's a typical way of stopping the clock in football.

Haha just read the official NFL rulebook. Even in the NFL it would not have run 10 seconds off because too many men on the field does not prevent the snap. Also the penalty does not cause the clock to stop because he was spiking it to stop the clock any way. This is straight out of the official NFL rulebook itself, available on Amazon. Think of it this way, if the play ended without the penalty would the clock keep going or not? If yes it would be running, then you do the 10 second rule. The mistake is everyone thinks any offensive penalties result in the 10 second rule, and that is not in the rulebook. In the Cowboys-Cardinals game, the ref explained it, but idiots want to ignore the rulebook.
