Okay so I recently updated Windows - and I don't know if that's the cause of the problem - but I'll be playing a song in iTunes and every time I start up a program of any kind the sound breaks up and stutters like a busted record for a sec and then goes back to normal. I thought it might be my CPU getting too hot, but I put on some Artic Silver and its running a lot cooler - still the same thing.

Whatever it is, its really annoying. Maybe a memory problem?

It's just your system getting stressed a bit, nothing more. How much ram are you using? I know in Winamp, you are able to set the process priority and also play around with the buffer to prevent or minimize skipping/stuttering. Never used iTunes before so I don't know if it has any such option(s)...

Well it never used to do it - and I'm using a stick of 512 so its not like its overloaded. I mean seriously, its just music. I think I'll set the application priority through task manager and see how that works. It really shouldn't be happening though.
