Mother opens fire; leaves 6-year-old son dead

Lee County sheriff?s investigators said Leslie Ann Wallace, 39, of 1461 Maranatha Drive, North Fort Myers, shot and killed her 6-year-old son, James, point blank Sunday morning at their home before driving to a nearby church and shooting her 16-year-old son, Kenny.

The only thing that saved his life was a covered Bible that Kenny Wallace held in his arms when his mother pulled the trigger, authorities said.

So are we going to have a repeat of the Texas situation, where the woman blames it on post-partum depression and Katie Couric sets up a defense fund for her? Or was it because the mother had been playing Doom? ;)

The thing about the Bible blows me away, too . . .

That is weird.

I hope that woman rots away in jail for the rest of her pathetic life. I don't give a damn if it is depression or whatever other lame excuse they come up with, murder is murder and she is now going to face the consequences.

I think moms going on killing sprees is going to replace school-kids going on killing sprees.

She deserves to fry. Like the bible saved the 16 year old because of his belief in god.......right.,thats why his mother just shot and killed his little brother. Yea right, its god that saved him.:disgust:

Amazing... Very cool (about the Bible saving the kid's life). Horrible news about the mom though. If she was nuts (due to depression or whatever), she still needs to pay the price. Prison, or a prison mental ward. Take your pick.

crazy people piss me off. If you do something wrong and then go to court and blame it on insanity, well your insane ass needs to stay the hell away from all us non-crazy bastards. I dont care if you take medicine to make it better or go through therapy, you kill someone not by accident, you should die

And just how the hell are they going to execute the person then? Have them walk across a slippery floor hoping the next fall is fatal?

When you made your 201st post...

I had some comments on the topic...but I don't think I want to make them now...I'm just going to shake my head in disgusted silence.

Yeah. They know their gonna die so they do everything they can to weasal their way out. Didn't think of that when they shot em. Way to many people plead insanity. It's a last ditch effort, and unfortunately we fall for it. When putting someone to death though, you have to be positve without a shadow of a doubt they did it. if they plead insanity, there is sometime a shadow of a doubt. I just think it is the scapegoat for these people.

Too bad.

<< Yea right, its god that saved him. >>

I just knew some Christian hating bigot would use this as yet another opportunity to take pot shots at those of faith.
