I have it running on my laptop works fine. The only way for it to mess up XP if you have no Idea what you are doing. You need to have experience.

OWW @ MDE: your link does not work but here is this what you wanted?? Thats Win XP there
bbzzdd is down, but yeah that's similar to the screenshot I took.

And the first thing I do when I install XP is to make it more like Win98. :Q

Classic Start Menu, Classic skin for WMP, and I set Windows Explorer back to the old ways. I also do away with those damned "personalized" menus. I like my software to be predictable and consistent.

A nice non-shiny black theme for XP looks really nice. Its not eye candy like Vista, but it looks a bit nicer than the classic theme.

Is this a known issue or it was just he who fvcked up?

I'm downloading now...haven't installed yet...but from what I read it seems as though that really was a known bug that has been fixed with the most recent release. You can simply uninstall and/or do a system restore without reinstalling windows and everything will be fine and dandy.

I had vista and loved it but i had to reinstall due to driver difficulties so I'm kinda stoked on this. Thanks for the link.

so, shouldn't they just call it the osx transformation pack and just get the middleman(vista) out of the way.

I installed a earlier version and windows will never be the same. I have an OEM version of XP Home and I found the icons will never stay. After an auto update, a bunch of the icons would revert back to normal XP icons and as time goes on, the rest of the theme does mess up here and there. Better to just use windows blinds or a similar program that wont actually replace core windows files.

Make sure you keep around the necessary files to uninstall because a system restore is a total B****. I haven't done one in a long while so I'm not sure if it happens anymore but even a non formatting system restore overwrites your registry making it a lot of work to get your system back to how it was.

I like it . I beta tested vista, then uninstalled it . I dont intend to buy vista,as I dont feel the need for vista. With Vienna (or whatever)coming in 09,and xp being supported for years to come,I think MS would have been better served by reinventing xp(XP,the directors cut)Just my .02 .

The install guide clearly suggests creating a restore point.

I liked purdy.

Oh and if I wanted Vista, I'd just install Vista... oh wait, already did .

No you see with this pack, the computer actually retains usefulness and functionality, unlike when you go with OSX.

geez, you got me there. i guess if i wanna play a handful of games, i'm really out of luck...

still, it's funny people are dressing up xp to look like vista, and vista is just a cheap osx knockoff. well, at least 5 out of the 6 versions are.
