Quite the project. I worked on the Altamont Wind Farms for a while back in the 80's...but those were MUCH smaller than the windmills in your video.

The only thing that's scarier is TV tower rigging especially when things go wrong. :Q

I don't know why but cranes and big excavators fascinate me. When we pull into a port we infrequently visit everyone is checking out the landscape and I'm noticing the impressive machinery loading containers. :roll:

They brought in some new container cranes for the Port of Oakland a few years back. They had to shut down the Oakland-SF Bay Bridge for the move, and had it planned for a record low tide to get them under the bridge. As it was, they had about 6 feet of clearance as they passed under.

Awesome! Incidentally, I think that video clicked something for me. Either those type of educationally-leaning shows are responsible for my love of electronic music (because that's how I first heard it as a kid probably), or an inherent love of electronic music caused me to love those shows and become a knowledge seeking geek. A win either way.

That's some impressive crane maneuvering to get those pieces just right. Even with the guys on cables helping, that's still difficult to do.
