Brandon W. Smith of Akron is wanted by police for the slaying of a man shot multiple times Wednesday outside a Manchester Road check-cashing business.

Smith, 18, of Kling Street, is wanted on a charge of aggravated murder. Police say Smith should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police ask that anyone with information about Smith's whereabouts contact detectives at 330-375-2490. Tips can be left anonymously via the Internet at: http://ci.akron.oh.us/ASP/tip.html.

Dominic Johnson, 20, was shot in the parking lot of Db's Check Mart at 1206 Manchester Road shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday. Police say Johnson and Smith were involved in an altercation earlier in the day.

Smith returned with a handgun and fired several shots at Johnson, who ran from the scene.

Johnson was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 1000 block of La Croix Avenue.

He was transported to Akron General Medical Center, where he later died.

Every check cashing place around here has thug looking dudes and druggies hanging around. No way I would hang out there, much less stick around after getting into a fight. I feel bad for the family though.

Sounds like he finished him off after someone did him in.

Sounds like he finished him off after someone did him in.

Indeed. The police needs to get their priorities straight, I'd be looking for the shooter first before looking for the man who slayed the gunshot victim. 😛

Yeah I go to the University of Akron. I hear about this stuff on a regular basis, and it really doesn't phase me anymore. This though has affected me, because I know her personally.
