i just got one from the fs/ft board, and wow. $70 and i got a auihb tbred b 2100+ week 01 2003. with 1.55 v default voltage.

at just 1.7 volts. wow. i'm at 2700+ speeds .... i set to 1.7 volts and it reads 1.73 to 1.75 in motherboard monitor.

i've got a dynatron retail heatsink, but the copper base version.

is 1.74 volts too much? will this heatsink work well? i have no case cooling, and an antec sl300, and msi k7n2g

UPDATE: crashed at 1.7 volts setting after a little over an hour so upped it to the 1.75 volt setting yielding an actual 1.79 volts

I have the same stepping, same week chip running @ 2.17GHz @ 1.65V and idling @ 41C loaded @ 49C. I'll be installing an Alpha PAL 8045 on Friday, temps. should drop like a rock then.

Edit: 1.74V isn't too high, but I don't think you need that much voltage for that o/c. You could try to back it down a step or two. I would.

well it'll only run at the 1.7 setting. prime crashes out at 1.675. figure i might even have to move it up one more notch to be safe since prime hasnt really run that long. the diode temp seems to be 50C ,on full load so not bad.

How are you guys altering the voltages? And are you changing the multipliers and FSB speed through BIOS?

i changed my voltage in the mobo. my chip is locked, so i dont know if i can change though i heard some nforce2's could change multiplier on unlocked chips.

either way i dont think i can run much higher fsb, so i just left it at 166bus with matching ram.

you might want to try better cooling...

i know that i had stability issues cuz my chip wasn't cool enough....
