WoW system reqs

question for all of you lucky people with the world of warcraft beta- what kind of hardware do you need to run it well?

P4 2.8 533FSB, 1GB DDR333, GF4 ti 4400 runs it just fine (over 30fps with most settings on high). From what I hear, it scales well to rigs much less than that even.

I'm upgrading my rig anyway (more for HL2 than for WoW). Come Monday, you won't need to be lucky - just sign up for open Beta and try it out yourself.

It's a typical Blizzard game....very forgiving of system specs. Still they managed to make the game look very attractive.

Taken from the worldofwarcraft site

What are the system requirements?

Windows® System 98/ME/2000/XP OS:

Windows® System 98/ME/2000/XP OS:
800 MHz or higher CPU.
256 MB or more of RAM.
32 MB 3D graphics card with hardware Transform and Lighting, such as GeForce 2 or better.
4 GB or more of available hard drive space.
DirectX® 9.0c or above.
A 56k or higher modem with an Internet connection.

Mac® System OS X 10.3.5 OS:

933 MHz or higher G4 or G5 processor.
512 MB RAM or higher. DDR RAM recommended.
ATI or NVIDIA video hardware with 32 MB VRAM or more.
4 GB or more of available hard drive space.
MacOS X 10.3.5 or newer.
A 56k or higher modem with an Internet connection.

I ran the first stress test on an old system close to those min. specs (P3 with a 64MB Geforce 3 ti200). It was very playable on low settings. I plan to finally upgrade before the end of the year, so I can enjoy all the eye-candy at high setttings.
