Well, she's not the first too dumb to serve on a jury, just the first too dumb to show up. I've know a few judges who would have dropped her into a hole for a month til they got around to sentencing her.

They should just get seniors to serve on juries. It combines all the things old people love: long winded stories, courtroom drama, judging minorities, sitting and staring for hours on end, consuming vast quantities of coffee and donuts...

She's the kind of person lawyers want on a jury, someone dumb enough to believe them.

The more education you have, the more likely they won't want you on a jury.

The only time (so far) i've been selected for jury duty, they didn't even need us. Just made us sit and stand around for like 6 hours, and the guy took a plea bargain. All 100-ish of the candidates got to watch his sentencing though.

She said the vacation was planned six months ago. Courts are pretty good about deferring your summons to a later date when asked. Pretty weak excuses, and if english is her 2nd language...wonder if the judge could get her citizenship reviewed and get her deported?
