Assuming you are only doing non-group content. Involving no instances, or groups larger than 3. You should be able to get away with the right gear and base powers. The only problem with just solo, is being an MMO most of the "Fun" activities are done in Instances and the Battle Grounds. I think it would be fairly dull just to solo grind. You can do most of your quests but even then you will get eilte quests now and again that you won't be able to do without a party. Even some non-elite missions involve a boss mob that has 3-4 lackies that support him.

Now benchiu brought up a good point, professions can make a huge difference. If you went for a non-healing class, going heavy into alchemy and first aid would make a huge difference in downtime and what you can handle. With armor and health potions, with solo type encounters especially.

Hunters have heal pet, as the pet is generally tanking when solo, this does give them some reasonable healing capability when solo, especially if they are beastmaster spec. Spirit bond got pretty nerfed in the last hunter talent redesign, but helps. I think you underestimate the solo-ability of hunter. I certainly did when I hadn't played one.

Beastmaster spec hunters are the kings of solo content in my mind, and I say that with none of my main 4 characters being hunters (priest and rogue at 60 and warrior and warlock in the mid 50s). Sure there are classes that are better than one aspect of the hunter, but I feel that hunter as a package is better than any other class at solo / farming.

The downside is that you are an expendable class in instance situations. But it sounds like that shouldn't be a large issue in this case.

If I had to choose between the classes he listed: druid, warrior, and mage... it's a tough call. Mage and warrior both start a little slow and have downtime issues. druids had poor DPS, but the changes may have fixed that, at least to some extent. Mage has the teleport thing cutting down in necessary time (you can set your stone to your grinding zone, and just teleport back to large towns when you need to). I'd probably say mage or druid. I'd probably lean towards druid because that's the only class I haven't played up to level 30.

I'm playing a druid (lvl 41) now and I must say that for soloing this class is pretty good.

Here is a quick list of things I've done I've done in the last week or two that support my claim:

- At lvl 37 I solo'd lvl 41 raptors in STV repeatedly for a quest with little downtime
- At lvl 39 I took on a lvl 44 naga in STV (as a joke) in front of friends and won...I have never killed something that much higher than me prior to this with any other class...I must say I got lucky though because a fair amount of my attacks landed and usually at that lvl difference you can expect to miss much more than you hit 🙁...I don't think this win would be a repeated one
- this morning at lvl 41 I took on an elite lvl 42 ogre in STV....cat form long enought to get 5 combo points..put the dot on...heal...shift to bear and hold on 🙂
- also this morning I was killing skullsplitters (lvl 40 ish)....I was consistantly taking on the 3 lvl 40 that patrol (usually 2 warriors and either an axe thrower or magic guy)
- as far as low lvl instances go...I solo'd deadmines repeatedly at lvl 37...I don't know how this compares to what other classes have experienced but I know I couldn't have done it with my warrior at that lvl for sure.

You have a wide variety of options as a druid when fighting or fleeing. Even If I get into trouble I usually (not always) can get away (instant cast travel form or cat form speed burst) heal and come back. I feel that I do good dps in cat form now. I am feral spec with mostly agility and either strength or stamina gear so I have very little mana but I only use it for some quick healing and shape shifting for the most part.

I am changing servers so my 35 warrior and 30 lock are gone and there have been numerous patches. Which is the best solo class of the following: warrior, druid or mage.

hunter is the ultimate solo class period.
