When people say that the 7300GT sucked with games I didn't know they meant it sucked this bad. I never knew that there's such variations between high end and low end cards. So I guess if you game this can kind of justify your purchase of ultra high end cards. Text

I didn't expect to play any games with a low end card, I'm just saying that the diffrence never occured to me before. That's ridiculus though, and some people use cards like that, obviosly they don't put up the graphics with a low end card.

The 7300gt is not even a "bad" card. I wish they would have put an fx5200 or some older gen cards on the list for comparison. It would be atrocious. It would maybe help those stupid people who still buy mx4000 and old fx cards from best buy for 50ish bucks.

Wow, that is a pretty nifty tool! I guess THG does come up with innovative stuff every once in a while!

(Hopes Rage3d and Xbitlabs come up with something like this too)

Edit: Uh, I think they messed up the X1950XTX and X1950XTX CF scores. CF scores consistently less than single-GPU - it should be vice versa?

a 7300GT kicks a$$, they're great OCing cards too. I had one that could OC to 550/800mhz. I even scored 4000+ on 3Dmark05 with that card, but to compare one to a 8000GTX is ludicrous. Not everyone can afford a high-end card or needs one.

I practically gave my 7300GT(well for $20 actually) to a friend who was stuck on a 6100 IGP. The difference for him was like day and night.

the 7300gt they're using is the TurboCache model. the normal 7300gt performs around 6600gt levels, so it would get around 35 fps at 1024*768 with 8xAF. not bad for a $80 card ;)

You're spot on. I feel bad for those unknowledgeable people that are still buying such things.

I'm so glad I didn't get an FX5200. My 9200 faired pretty well back then before I got a 7800GT. Why would you get a dedicated video card if you don't plan on gaming though? Integrated works pretty well with everyday tasks.

But... but... it has a seven in it and if you squint the three almost turns into an eight. Besides, it is designated Grand Turismo so it must be fast.

the 7300 gt isnt that bad of a card. besides its like $70 what do you expect.

the link you sent is for a 7300 GS though which is marked blue on the charts and is an even slower card thats about $40.

7300GT with DDR3 that some places are selling is very good, I've seen one with default clocks of 520Mhz core and 1400Mhz Memory, so with overclocking, would be MEGA!

This thread is ridiculous.

There is a place for good value cards, as not all gamers are uber-geeks with cash coming out of their ears.

My friend David is a good example. Casual RPG gamer, mostly he just watches videos and listens to music, emails, etc. But he wanted to upgrade his Sempron 3100+, GF6100 video, up to something that would at least play games at modest detail and speed.

For $49, with free shipping, we found him a 128MB GF7300GS PCI-Express, with TV & DVI Outputs :)

He now plays Titan Quest at medium detail at 1024x768 pretty smoothly (20-30fps, and it looks REALLY nice, considering it's a $50 card!) His other RTS and RPGs play even better, as they are older.

He's having a great time with it. For him, even $150 on a video card was waaaay too much. He got his mobo/cpu combo for $59, case for $18 (with cheapo 350w psu), 1gb patriot ddr for $79, 200gb sata1 for $49, Samsung 18X DVDRW for $28. So, he's got a really nice system for his purposes, and it didn't break the bank for him. He has school, car, insurance, gas, food, clothes, bills, etc to pay for, the last thing he needed to spend extra on was a damned video card.

Sure, if you expect a cheap video card to play high res, high detail, on a cutting-edge game, you're an idiot. You're also an idiot if don't realize there is a good place for budget video cards, provided they are decent for the purposes that people buy them for.

The point of this thread was to show just how far our technology has gotten. A few years ago the 7300GS would have been a great card, notice how fast our graphics technology has progressed in such a short time.

This is why the PC gaming market is shrinking every year and continues to suck.

The 7300GT GDDR3 version is A LOT faster than the GDDR2 version, which is the one listed on the charts. It's faster than the 7600GS. With some overclocking, it's about as fast the 6800 Ultra.

Yup because 8800gtx SLI with dual Dell 30" LCD panels with a 4ghz conroe is the only way to play anything decent around here.

Ultra High end is only justifiable in the eyes of PC enthusiasts. Where any rhyme or reason makes sense to them in order to convince themselves for dropping $5-$600 on a vid card.

A PC enthusiasts' PC is anything but practical/justifiable.

How does a 7300GT DDR2 usually overclock without 3rd party cooling or volt mods?
