Wow, poor Dick Clark

It's been sad to watch him the past few years. Just give it up, you're a legend dude. We don't need to hear "7, 6, 5, 8...Happy Newbear erbone!"

I think it was that show with Ed McMahon that did it to him.

Edit: Something Something Bloopers, I guess he makes his own now.

Someone said he made an appearance last year but this year is the first I remember seeing him since he had it several years ago.

He's no more ageless than any of us...

He just looked great/performed great much longer than you would expect. God bless him. Time has caught up.

yup, he had a massive stroke and well, with stroke comes loss of muscle movement most of the time, as well as some tooth damage in patients due to them biting down and chipping their own teeth... it was sad to see him, but he is a legend and i feel that he would not be the same if he was unable to do what he has loved doing...

Poor Dick Clark? no, he's still doing what he loves - and with his cash and standing, it's something he doesn't need to keep doing....

More like, poor Ryan Seacrest nipping at Dick Clark's heels...

While I think it's sad that he had a stroke and is somewhat impaired, it's also inspirational. Here's a guy doing what he loves, stroke be darned. And he's a cultural icon at this point. I can only hope that when I'm his age, I'll be doing what I love.

Ryan Seacrest is actually going to be in the same position as Dick in about then next ten years (not stroke, but celebrity). If you didn't notice, Ryan is pretty much a protege of Dick and other very successful producers these days. You don't hear his name much because he's behind the scenes more now.

And as far as Dick, I thought he looked and sounded much better last year. This year he looks like he had some major plastic surgery.

Bah!

It's an act to throw us off the fact he's immortal.

I fully expect, one of these days, for him to turn to Ed McMahon and scream "There can be only one!", and chop his head off.

(The above is a joke for the comedy impaired)
