ok so I ban this guy off my game server because he's been shittalking for a while and I've been waiting for the opportunity to ban him.

Today he decides to advertise his own server on mine in public chat, I was at work so could not do anything till I get home, by then he's gone so I start matching IPs and what not. Looks like his friend was doing the advertising but it's his server. I also threatened to contact his isp (which I did) and have his server knocked off line as it was run off his home.

So then he threatens a DDoS attack. That was the last straw, I banned him, but he kept using proxies so it took a while for me to ban all his IPs/accounts as I try to not ban entire ranges which would end up banning other people. So thats done, I even did a quick patch to disable registrations (I need to make a in-game command for that...)

Now when you think it's over, iti's not.

He's prank calling my house now (me being too cheap for whois security = owned). I have the phone off hook and receiver unplugged. Minute I put it on hook it rings. Call trace wont do anything as it's international.

Anything I actually can do about this? Specifically the phone pranks?

I'll try calling the cops but don't think they can do much considering it's originating from the states or something.
 
Well, I guess the lesson for you is not to make threats if you don't want to deal with the consequences. I would have just banned the required IPs and moved on.

I'd post em but it might just stirr things up more, but it's very tempting at this point. it's 4 am and I did not get any of the work I wanted to get done because of this ass.

I'm kinda doing the same thing to some script kiddie who's been hitting the Vent of the EVE corp I'm in with DDoS. I've been prankdialer-ing him all night :laugh:

I also turned him in to the copyright police... he's got links to copyrighted software posted on his website.

try calling Bell and see what they can do to help you.
 
What do you mean he's calling your house and you have your "phone off hook and receiver unplugged"? Do you mean you have a cell phone that's dedicated to your house and you turned it off?

i just put all 0's as my phone number. my address yeah since they require at least that, but never my phone number.
 
I'm sorry, but this is pretty fucking funny. Honestly, he's just being annoying... I doubt you could get him into any trouble. Just ignore the calls, he'll get bored and start watching his anime again.

Oh I just left the receiver so he stops calling but then it beeps so I just unplugged the receiver so the beeps don't wake up my parents. If only that trace would of worked I would of busted his ass.

It seems to have stopped now, but I'll only know tonight. This is your typical "i have 9000 million bot nets lawls" type script kiddie.

I own like 30 domains so whois security would get very expensive, but I'm thinking about it. I used to have false information but later on heard it is illegal and could get you in serious trouble including getting the domain taken away. Sucks that you have to put personal info though.


And last I heard our tank broke down while trying to get through a snow bank.
