You can call Blizzard and tell them your account was hacked. They keep records of all the past information. I've heard of a guy selling his account multiple times and then claiming it was hacked.

I sold an item for 400 dollars to a person and he reversed it and now I'm at negative funds. Now, I have to fight him with proof of an AIM log, but for now I can't do anything since im at -310 dollars.

You're screwed. This has happened to me before and nothing good ever came of it. I recommend that you visit http://www.paypalsucks.com and ask them for advice.

WTF? Any sellers got info on how to protect yourself?

Credit card and dealing with people that CC company protections apply too.

Most Debit cards <> Credit even with the logos on them

Can't beat cash or western union/bank wire though.

If dealing in checks it's always best to cash at the bank they are drawn on. Otherwise your bank can hit you with an NSF fee for them since you have endorsed them.

I personally avoid taking or paying with checks as they are freaking primed for fraud.

someone I know does this to scam money from people by reselling his account...
pretty despicable, but in this case it can help you.

Why haven't you turned him in yet?

This happened to me before, I sold my account last year October on ebay and took a paypal payment for 750 canadian at the time, gave him the info everything was fine tilll about a month later the payment was reversed, they guy seemed to have used a stolen credit card. I went to paypal with all the information but they wouldn't do shit about it saying that I had to have sent him the actual cd's and whatnot so that he could have signed for it.. I lost all that money and my account I went to blizzard and had them give me back the account (all you need really is the cd key) but he had already switched the character over to another account and they wouldn't reverse it, was total bullshit emailed so many of the gm's for it. Paypal locked the account down and sent the thing to collections and I ended up having to pay the 750 dollars back to them.. After that I just stopped using ebay and paypal..

Unfortunately buddy, you're out of luck. It's IMPOSSIBLE to win this paypal claim, unless you have the sellers verified shipping address, and you actually shipped something to him. In addition, if the amount is over 400 dollars, you need to have signature confirmation as well, to prove that the item was shipped/received. This is the ONLY way you can win this case. Paypal will not look at any other information.

I was in the exact same situation as you. I sold an account, didn't get the verified address, and less than 5 minutes after the transaction was completed, and I had passed along my info, the buyer filed a claim to reverse the transaction. Even though it was blatantly obvious that I was being ripped off, they wouldn't find it in my favor. A total waste of time.

Fortunately, Blizzard restored my account/characters in a couple of weeks. Just petition a gm through their e-mail system.

But yeah, I'm really starting to hate paypal. Their system is setup to support scammers.

how else are you going to set it up?

You will never win unless you have some sort of signature confirmation. Even then, the buyer can probably just claim you sent them bricks if they haven't already claimed non-shipment of goods.
