Wow. P180 = Amazing.

So I just setup my new system in the P180. E6600, 7900GT, Corsair 520 Watt PSU, and the three stock Antec fans are the noise makers. I'm sitting 2 feet from the machine and I can't hear anything but hard drive access... and it's idling at 28C! This is an awesome case.

The idle temps on my P182 seem really high (see sig for specs). I'm running the fans on low/low/med (top/rear/lower chamber). Maybe it's my video card pumping out the heat, or I need to route the cables better.

Edit: I should mention the idle is 36c. Normal desktop use is 39c, 12 hours of Orthos is 40-41c.

I LOVE my P180b, but I really don't fricking understand why it doesn't have a system speaker... What if I wanted to know the POST issues?

Well if you buy an asus mobotherboard they come with them, the newer ones anyway.

You could buy a little speaker dongle for the front panel connector, but I thought most new boards have built in system speakers?

I like mine, but I ran into an issue yesterday with it. I've moved the lower fan to the front center of the case because I didn't have any hard drives down there and my modular PSU's wires had to pass through the frame for the fan. I recently put a new hard drive in the lower cage and it was running at 52C and beeping at me because it was overheating.

Now I have to get a new PSU so I can put the fan back down there and move all my drives around. Kind of a pain but I guess it's not the case's fault. It would be nice if I could get a fan in the front of the lower compartment but I can't figure out if you're supposed to. It would have to be a really slim 120MM fan.

somebody over at hardforums did get a fan in the front of the lower bay, it involved some modding. saw it back in december when i was doing research on my new build in a p180

wish i had the link but you can do some searching in the case forum over at hardforums and try to find it.

it was a pretty long thread, over 5-6 pages with pics.

What it comes down to is that modular PSUs really stink for the P180. If your cables stick way out from the back of the PSU you can't get the fan in there and you can't put any hard drives in the 4 lower bays. I'm stuck with my 2 drives until I get a new PSU. I'm too lazy to get out the dremel and mod the heck out of the case.
