MaxMojo - There are thousands of people who have received all their CyberRebate checks. This includes myself as I stated earlier. That's not the point that I was trying to make. As with any scam of this type, everyone is very happy at first. Happy customers who are willing to share their experiences are essential for the scam to work. I was simply pointing out that it looks like the end is near and to be careful.
There are current 3 investigations that I know of that are active against CyberRebate. The fist in mentioned in my previous post, the second is the FTC (Federal Trade Commission), and third, the US postal Service. All three have contacted me personally for affidavits of my CyberRebate experience.
A little common sense will go a long way here. CyberRebate is a company that ?claims? to make revenue from advertisements. This is clearly stated in the? about our company ? section on their website. Yet, has anyone ever seen advertisement from any other company on the CyberRebate site? In addition, they cannot (at least legally) be selling your personal information to marketing companies as in addition to their stated privacy policy, they have no less than three private security certificates from companies that monitor this stuff. So how do they make money and at the same time give you free items and also pay hefty referrals for purchases that can give you an annualized return of over 15%? You figure it out, because no one has been able to yet.
BTW for those of you that depend on the safety of your CC Company and their legal might, you better think again? Most CC companies consider rebates to be promotions and they are not covered under the consumer credit card protection laws. In their eyes, the company delivered the item that you purchased and the fact that you paid 10 times for it is not their concern. Check with your cc company for their policy on this issue. As far as bankruptcy, product purchases are always last in line right in front of management when it comes to recovering any monies. Your only chance in this situation is a class action suit where even if you do happen to win a judgment and assets are available, the lawyers will take most of it. Good luck with this. Remember that CyberRebate was a New York lawyer who has done his homework.
It is possible for this scam to continue for a while. It is all contingent on much incoming revenue that they can ?con? with their new promotions. However, at some point, the party will be over and someone will loose. For most, it will only take loosing one or two of their high dollar rebates before they will end up having lost the equivalent of the full retail price for all that they purchased from CyberRebate.
I apologize for the long posts. I just wanted you guys to know the ?real? CyberRebate as
I have discovered over the past year. Even though I never lost a penny to their scam, my ?Free? items ended up costing me quite a bit when you consider the about of time that I have spent recovering rebates. I will not continue posting in this thread, as it is not really the place for this discussion. Hopefully we can all meet on the boards in a few months and laugh at CyberRebate?s demise.
Good luck and don?t cry later that you were not warned
