Monday and no traffic on every road to work. Traffic reports mention very little traffic at all.

Must be due to Yon Kippur the Jewish holiday... I think? Are they allowed to drive cars today? Are they allowed to use a computer? must suck if you are an addicted ATOT poster...

Started yesterday at sun down and ends today I believe. That's why my college has no classes after 4:30pm yesterday and no classes at all today.

Either way lots of Jewish people follow it and that = a lot of less cars on the road today.

I remember thinking that there was more traffic than usual on my drive in to work. Logically, might that suggest a large anti-Semitic population in the area?

Most people from at work today all experience no traffic and this is in Long Island NY. A guy that arrives at work around 9:40 everyday just came in at 9:20... he zoomed on the LIE today.

It's just weird that one religious day has such an effect.

No classes for me, and no school for my little brothers.

I'm at work instead.

My morning drive from Alhambra to Culver City was cut by about 20 minutes. That's unheard of for Monday morning.

Traffic today was pretty average. Slightly worse than usual actually. I can usually manage to get on campus and start walking from the parking lot by 7:15. I got parked at 7:20 today.

I know a guy who worked for the transportation board and he said the difference between free flowing traffic and gridlock is 5%. Any kind of holiday or school vacation is going to make a huge difference.
