He didn't quite lose he planned to have his fake heart attack drug kick in just after the fight. It happened a little early. He was stomping on Clark pretty much after the Green Arrow delivered the gas form (or finely powdered so that it was easy to make airborn) Kryptonite.

Also Bruce described the effort it took to synthesize the kryptonite. If he wanted to he could've made it fatal to Superman by changing the binding agent so that it stayed in Superman's lungs for a long long time.

WTF Ben Affleck. He just does not remind me of a batman. Who knows... I thought he did really well in The Town and the Superman movie he did was decent. def could have been worse. Thank god it was not JGL

So why was everyone saying JGL was going to be batman? He is "Mother Fucking" Robin and they should bring him back as Robin. His god damn name was Robin in the movie. If it was any more obvious they would had to stop the movie and say he will not be BATMAN he will be Robin. I still can't believe people even thought he had a chance to be the new batman. 🙄
 
he was good in argo. i don't see how he would become the primary choice for the movie. i would have preferred someone like josh brolin.
 
i like him as an actor in general, but think he is a terrible fit for a super hero. he is not good in action roles in general, especially ones that require over the top action.

if it follows the comic line, supes vs bats is set in the future.

bruce wayne asks himself what if superman went bad or crazy or is controlled.
he answers by using his $billions$ to create synthetic kryptonite.

in current time comic mythos, superman volunteerily gave bats a shard of real kyrptonite just in case he gets corrupted. but that was several dc comics reboots ago.
