Wow Newegg.ca's prices really are quite a lot better than NCIX's.

A post came up a while back mentioning that newegg.ca opened recently. I replied in that thread that I was a happy customer of NCIX, built my last system from them. I still very much like NCIX, they are Vancouver based and being able to go in and pick up the parts in store is nice. Just did a side by side comparison of newegg and NCIX though and newegg really does beat NCIX on most prices and some by a significant amount. And NCIX is no slouch at pricing either.

I dunno, I was going through the other day, and it seemed 50/50 on most things i was looking at.

Has anyone bought through newegg.ca? where do they ship from?

I've found NCIX to be more expensive than pretty much everywhere else. Maybe I just have bad luck, but everything I want to buy is more expensive there. I pretty much use Direct Canada exclusively now. Maybe I'll try Newegg next time.

NCIX was never cheap. I only ever bought from them because Tiger Direct sold one brand in each category.

well, up til now NCIX was lower mainland's ONLY choice for custom parts really. having newegg move in will only help lower the prices on both stores.

besides, i like being able to go to a physical store and picking up my orders. call me paranoid but i like accountability.

The prices are competitive...although you have to pay shipping on pretty much everything. I guess that's one of the big advantages of NCIX. You can walk in (and wait..) for your parts and not have to deal with having to wait and pay for shipping. I'm frequently in the Metrotown area (as well as Broadway) so it's not too out of the way for me to shop at NCIX. I haven't really looked at Newegg.ca recently, but their prices as far as I could see were pretty much on par with NCIX's so I didn't really see any advantage to shopping at Newegg.
