by the way, this combined with carbon nano-tube technology is absolutely amazing. The local IEEE had an IBM speaker do a lecture on these technologies, and I was awestruck

Then I started thinking about the universal-fit clothes and shoes in 'Back to the Future 2'.

Of course, many other movies and novels have explored the potential for nanotechnology. The most obvious fictional application would be artificial intelligence...

Isn't it funny how fictional representations of the use of new technology never quite work in the real world?
