She actually messaged me this morning because she ran out of work and needed more. WTF!? Who does that shit. How do you expect to get by in life by doing more than you're asked for, you're never rewarded for that shit.

In my case I asked for a promotion I got more work than I was already doing. Oh and they love to drag it out too.
 
For smart and/or driven people, giving them not enough work is sometimes worse than giving them a bit too much.

Your call, but there is no "ONE SIZE FITS ALL" when it comes to managing employees.

I've done that before, but in the form of offering to help another team optimize their broken ass shit. Even doing that diplomatically just pissed people off, so I haven't made that mistake again. 🙂
