I haven't bothered to change the brightness on mine from whatever the default is, it's fine. (I assume you need that program because the monitor doesn't allow brightness adjustments over DVI, correct?)

yeah, only on VGA (thats reserved for the laptop)

Yeah, that's kinda what I thought (and I just went through the monitor menus to make sure 😛). It's bright but I like it. 😎

when i first hooked it up through DVI, i didnt see it either, i am JUST NOW seeing the adjustment being unlocked
search google for "NEC brightness controller" its the first link

I just installed that quickly and it didn't seem to do anything (it did allow me to adjust brightness, but mine was apparently already at 100%). I still don't see any sort of brightness adjustments in the monitor's menus...and I just switched over to the VGA input (connected to my HDTV tuner), and no brightness adjustments there either...
Am I on crack? 😕
