Wow my monitor is so bright!

amol

Lifer
50% brightness and it lights up the whole room . . .

Good thing I have that NEC-Mitsubishi brightness controller. . .

Mine lights up the room reasonably too when the lights are off, it's kinda cool. 😛

I haven't bothered to change the brightness on mine from whatever the default is, it's fine. (I assume you need that program because the monitor doesn't allow brightness adjustments over DVI, correct?)

edit: actually, it DOES, but there isn't much difference between 0 and 100

yeah, only on VGA (thats reserved for the laptop)

Yeah, that's kinda what I thought (and I just went through the monitor menus to make sure 😛). It's bright but I like it. 😎

Are you talking about the individual color levels?

😕

Unless I'm missing something (possible given that it's after 4am), I don't see any brightness adjustment anywhere at all.

when i first hooked it up through DVI, i didnt see it either, i am JUST NOW seeing the adjustment being unlocked

search google for "NEC brightness controller" its the first link

maybe that has something to do with it

I just installed that quickly and it didn't seem to do anything (it did allow me to adjust brightness, but mine was apparently already at 100%). I still don't see any sort of brightness adjustments in the monitor's menus...and I just switched over to the VGA input (connected to my HDTV tuner), and no brightness adjustments there either...

Am I on crack? 😕

lol 😛

Where are you getting at the brightness control in the menus? I don't particularly feel the need to make my monitor less bright, but it's kinda curious that I'm not seeing it and you are...

maybe unhook the VGA cable, THEN try the DVI adjustment? i dont know . . .

my VGA cable is not connected since i dont really use my lappy on this monitor a lot anymore
