So at our weekly team meeting (which is a waste of an hour but hey whatever), we were told by one of our 3 managers (yes we have 3) that effective immediately:
1: we are no longer allowed to make lighting requests (dimming/brightening of lights and such)
2: have lamps at our desk (some people think it is too dark in here, others think too bright) because it's a "fire hazard" and
3: nor change the blinds to block light (we can raise/lower them, but not change their pitch. The issue with this is that the sun shines RIGHT into windows until about 11 and then does from 3 until the sun sets) because the windows are "natural light that are part of the design of the building"
So now from about 3pm until I leave (an hour or so) I have the sun shining RIGHT into my eyes creating massively distracting bright light behind and a bit above my monitor.
I hate my job.
