I've worked at the same company for about 3 years, never knew how strict they were on email monitoring, but knew they did it. Not that I have ever sent anything that was inappropriate. A coworker and me occasionally send encrypted text back and forth, just for laughs I guess. Mostly because we know they did monitor emails from time to time. Well last week as during lunch time I send my coworker some encrypted junk about where to eat. I was trying to see if she could guess they key I used., blah blah, mostly just stupid email stuff. I used Ross Encryption to encrypt it.
Well the next day I was approached by two network guys claiming they saw my message and figured it was encrypted and that I had to give them the text that was sent. I actually was quite shocked, lol, but since it IS a work email I just showed them it was making lunch plans and nothing like transmitting nuclear launch codes to spies, lol. Oh well, just thought I would post this for a laugh, guess I deserve it for goofing off. Even if it was on lunch time.
