Wow MSI rma is craptastic

I have RMAed with ASUS before several times and had a board back to me with shipping info once they received the board that the techs deemed dead.

Now this crappy MSI board dies while rebooting and they have had it for a week and tell me they will not be able to ship it out til the middle of next week. Am I out of line thinking this is unacceptable. If I talk to TS and go through all there steps and the board is determined by them to be dead why do they have to test it for a whole week, is like a Frankenstein lab and they have to wait for lighting to strike before they can power the board.

I mean the real kick in the nuts is that I bought an MSI P45 for a replacement and it was DOA and now I have to go through with there crapshoot of a RMA service to get this one replaced leaving me with close to a month of downtime. UUUUGGGGGHHH

TY for reading my venting sorry if I am overreacting.

3 weeks for a replacement isn't unusual. I would try a different power supply if both boards failed with the same one.

Thanks for the advice, I tried another PSU with the same results. I actually was sure it was another component once I got the other board and it was not working, so I bought an E8400 and a cheap stick of DDR2 ram to be sure it was not on my end and it was the same situation.

Ah yes, you crazy people and your logical thinking. I subscribe to a different school of thought, if things are not to my liking get pissed. Jk. I dunno I guess ASUS RMA just spoiled me to much, they were the only other company I have RMAed with and they were had things back in my hand within a week and a half two weeks.

I just completed an asus rma and it took about 3 weeks from the time I shipped to the time I received the new replacement mb.

Yeah I cant say enough bad shit about MSI they are just craptastic in general!!
Best to stick with Companies you know are good and will treat you the way you want to be treated like Asus,Gigabyte,DFI,Evga, and BioStar..
I would have mentioned Abit but they just recently bit the bullet and went out of biz...

Purely opinion.

My last three MSI motherboards have been EXCELLENT to me. Over 550FSB stable 24/7, never failed and easy OC's.

Well a little update, still no word from MSI, I have called and they either say they will call me back and do not or they tell me oh maybe the middle of this week or the end of this week or the beginning of the following week. I have completely had it with this company.

I have used MSI for last six years having endured ECS and Gigabyte products.. I never have had a reason to complain that I can remember although I did not venture far into the extreeme overclocking field so I cant comment on how they fare there.. RMA is probably not the strong part of any electronics company side...

WD, Creative, Antec and Corsair have been my favorites when it comes to RMAing. When their parts fail, they stand behind them very well.

I had problems several years ago with an MSI board I bought. The RMA process definitely wasn't great.

A lot of companies are cutting expenses... and one of them is reduce the employees number and hours... with out people working there, u can give a good service at all... I was in a computer store today with a hardware problem there some sort of RMA and the talk around was the hour reduction...
