WoW memory

Now here's a secondary question: I current have a 512MB stick + 256MB (Both PC-2700.) Would the extra money be worth getting 2GB dual-channel PC-3200, then selling the unsed mem, or just getting a single GB, and running 1.7GB in a non dual-channel, lower FSB setup? (The system will be an nF4 board with either an Opteron 144 or a A64 3200+ Venice.)

I would get a 2 gig dual channal set. Way better performance, and who knows what stability issues you will run into with using mixed up ram. As for widescreen, WoW is amazing on it. I play on a 2005fpw at max detail and get 64 fps steady (dual core fps cap )

If you have the money, definitely get 2GB. It'll help smooth out the server lag I think. Still trying to figure out what the specs are for WoW servers.

Nice to hear people are catching up. I got a hard time when I upgraded to 1.5 GB for an MMO in July of 2004, when people were asking if 512 MB was enough for WoW.

When I went from 1GB to 2GB, I only noticed a difference in EQ2 and BF2.
