Wow... lost sound support in WinMe. (driver enabled... but can't use??)

Sound was working fine at first.
till...

Well I read that Creative isn't supporting the Awe64 software wise and decided to just try it out. Well as the soundfont software didn't work I just uninstalled.
ACK!
Okay the drivers are installed and look fine, but now in Sound/Multimedia everything is greyed out. I have no idea where to go from here.

I should of made use of System Restore ahead of time! argh... lol.

I've already tried:
Reinstalling the Awe software.
Reinstall/removal of drivers.
Disabling/Enabling Drivers.
Full shut down of 'puter each time.

I really don't want to reinstall the darned OS again...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx,
Stephen
