beats me. seems that happens a lot on ebay though. you could upgrade half your rig to pci for that.

It's because its almost or is the highest 754 chip. So for the lazy that don't understand how cheap it would be to upgrade there computer by a whole lot they decide to buy that instead.

I looked at upgrading my 754 but when i saw that price, i bought two 270 opterons for 160, new surplus.
