Wow.. look at the Combat scenes from AOE III

w00t

You'll want a good bit of ram for one...um, i'd image a 6600gt would do decently on it. Probably not with all the graphics up, but it'd still be pretty.
Plus, SM3 is used in this game 😀

Using Firefox?

Yeah i had to switch to IE to watch it.

Hans... im sure the equivelent X series card would run it just the same (albeit without SM3, but we aren't really sure the IQ differences between the 2 in that game yet)

Indeedy! I can't wait for this game. I'd imagine for good play with some eye candy, you would need at least 3ghz and a 6800gt/x800xl.

Id say, if you want some eye candy, you need a 7800 series or R520 since Rome: Total War just kills a system when you turn on fire arrows (and fire seige) and a high quality. with a 6800gt (4400+). And Im assuming AoE 3 will be even more taxing.

All i see is a white screen with a fancy border around it. Does not look good to me, i wont be buying a blank white screen.

I won't buy the game because the website is not compatible with Firefox. Flame me all you want. I don't care. I hate IE.

We were disappointed that a couple of our machines got so hot they kept burning up video cards and eventually had to be shut down. I believe this was do to our area being very warm in some areas and there being on small air vents in the game stands. We had asked for water-cooled machines, but that didn?t happen.

I hope they weren't changing them out live!

Your choice, but its a good looking website and a great looking game!

I was just venting my "rage" 😀

I don't know, though, really if I should get it. I'm not too much a fan of Europe and its history.

this game does look amazing.
Rome: Total War's fire arrows slow my system, too.
I think it's more engine related than system, myself. Did no patch fix this?

I'm very excited about this game coming out.
Played the demos of 1 & 2, but nothing more.
this game is a candle and I am the moth.
Me want.

Looks like it's time for a new computer.. oh wait, I was gonna get a new one for new games like.. cough.. AoE3 anyway.. all hail the 1.2 ghz Duron!

Like most of the age series, the settings are adjustable to scale down to lower end systems. They are still working on the game, and most optimizations will come at the very end, so it is difficult to pin down specs at this point.

To run this at full rez and quality settings, you will need a beefy processor and a top of the line video card. As with any of the age series, RAM is very important especially for multiplayer 3v3 games. CPU is always important because as more units get added, late in a multiplayer game, or early in a DM game : ), the pathing for the units gets calculated by the CPU, which is the reason for most slowdown. The graphics are very advanced, and take full advantage of all the newest technologies that the very highest end cards offer.

In short, if you have a top of the line gaming rig, it will look great, but it will take next gen parts to push it to its fullest potential.

Is it true this game will be optimized for dual core CPU's? And what is the deal with cannons being able to fire 30 feet out infront of them? That's BS! Cannons should have a minimum range and should not be able to fire if the target is within the minimum.

you might be right, I was just saying 3ghz + 6800gt because thats what I have. 😛

Maybe it's just me but I'm not all that impressed graphics wise. The actual gameplay graphics don't look much better than whats out there currently.
