a big cause is the rate cuts

Not entirely. When Greenspan cut the rate to around 1% back in 2002 the greenback didnt plummet

That's cause Greenspan is a genius.

It"s caused by a pyramid of idiots that can"t afford stuffs at all, lured by the low interest rates (those are the idiots that ignored the principal). Those that were at the top of the pyramid were smart, those that got in late are just flat out idiots. As you can see, there were only a few smart ones as per the pyramid model.

Let the pyramid crumble, that way you can build another one ;)

Speaking of Canada, why is everything a giant rip off over there? It's obscene! Not just the taxes, but utilities, gas, cell phone service, fees at banks, even groceries are all ridiculously expensive compared to America.

You haven't been around much have you? Canada's cheap compared to the UK and much of Europe!

he's comapring it to the US

the washers here accept both US and canadian coins. i tend to use all the US quarters i can find now, to essentially get a free wash.

Right, I am sure the "Free Ride" argument putout by those subprime lenders did not cause this.

America?s economic difficulties, especially the problems in the housing market, are the direct result of the Federal Reserve?s inflationary policies. In the past year, we have seen MZM grow by 12%, yet the Fed continues to inflate the money supply. While prices for gold, oil, and staple commodities continue to rise, the purchasing power of the dollar for all Americans continues to fall. Inflationary monetary policies created the problems in the economy we are seeing, and these problems will be made worse, not better, by more inflation. Today?s action by the Fed is very bad news for American workers and retirees, who are about to get hit with yet another jump in prices.

Make no mistake, the problems faced by the American people are not caused by unscrupulous mortgage brokers or the rising price of oil. These are symptoms of an economic disease caused by a spendthrift Congress enabled by loose monetary policy. Too many pundits praise the weak dollar as benefiting exporters, but they fail to see the harm done to thrifty, hard-working Americans. Rather than continuing to pursue a policy of easy credit and increasing debt, we need to return to a sound monetary system.

Uhmmm...no that's not it at all. Saying that makes you look like a total tool and retard.

Truth is, no one knows why the dollar is falling. In part, lenders are having a field day, and people have less money to spend and buy stock etc. because they got collected on.

Another deal is simply this domino effect that when stocks fall, they rise, and then they fall, back and forth. Now is simply a minor recession in comparison to say the '70's.

At any rate, saying that is just perpetrating misconception and ignorance, and that's not appreciated.

There are negative aspects to a falling dollar ... I just choose not to mention them at this time.

I'm glad somebody did at least mention one of the positives. If anyone has read the book naked economics, the author explains many big positives of a "weak" dollar. But there are positives and negatives to both a weak and strong dollar so it evens out fairly close.

Your mistake is viewing "the US" as equivalent to the Multi-National Corporations which are devoid of soul or social conscience, whilst affecting National Policy with their Political Action Committees aka Lobbyists.
It is incredibly naive to think that as a Canadian, you are immune to the downsides of the Global Economy Model as well.
There is no free lunch.

I never said that there was no downside which I know there is in the long run however I am taking advantage of it now until the bubble bursts.
