Came to $138 and change for me... before the manubate. Thankee, I've been trying to convince my dad to do wireless for the past 3 weeks. This clinched it.

I have a question for this wireless router: Can I use regular dialup connetion with this router? I just moved to a new apt, and they don't have DSL or Cable - BIG mistake. Bye Bye to my beloved DSL...
Anyway, I need a wireless router that can support dialup as well. Is the SMC product has it??

Does anyone know how this works? I have DSL with a Westell modem. I am in NYC. I want to know if this is separate to my modem or will this be connected to my modem. I want to get this real bad so please respond ASAP. Thanks!!

I have the entire linksys system on my home network. One of the pc's has the wireless card with a pci adapter, a laptop with the wireless card, and my main pc is wired directly to the router. The whole system works very well. The key is to put the wireless router in a central location of your house that way you can take the laptop pretty much everywhere. I get fast download and upload speeds with it using cox cable. I am into astronomy and I can take my laptop outside with my scope and go to web sites while slewing the scope. Eventhough the connection shows a weak link it doesn't seem to affect the speed. Occasionaly the router has to be reset but don't know if that is a problem with the router or my cable. The linksys cards do not have a movable antennae on them which I think would improve the range but so far it meets my purposes and I am quite happy with the product. There are some firmware downloads that you may want to do with the router and I would download the latest drivers from linksys and not use the ones that come with the cd. Once you use the ones with the cd xp wants to stay with those drivers.
This is an excellent deal and I would jump if I didn't already have it.

Anyone know if this would work for me and my buddy. He lives about 100 ft from me in the same apt complex. The range looks like it would work but im very skeptical. We both have our own Dsl, would be great if we could drop one of those.

Argggg this is now showing up at $200.74. Looks like the deal is over.

Maybe I will buy it from Dell anyway so I can use the coupons and then PM it with my AMXB card to Outpost @ $179.95 or Buy.com @ $188. ??

Anyone see anything better?

I'VE HEARD MANY BAD THINGS WITH LYNKSYS WIRELESS HAVING A TERRIBLE RANGE COMPARED TO COMPETING PRODUCTS FROM SMC, CISCO.

I'D RATHER PAY MORE AND GET A better PRODUCT WITH MORE RANGE---UNLESS, OF COURSE, YOU LIVE IN A HOVEL AND COMPUTE NEXT TO THE DEVICE!

Geezzz dude, ease up on the caps! Don't need to scream.

I know at least 10 people that have the linksys products and are quite satisfied with them. As with most products, ymmv.

Update to my post above: Seems that dell no longer even has the 10% off. Hmmph. So it seems that the best I could do would be to buy it from Staples, use the $40 off $200 coupon (if I can find it agian) and then PM it with the AMXB card. That gets it down to $120 ish.

Maybe there is a good deal on a D-link or SMC that I am not seeing? I missed the BB D-link, which I would have gotten even though it wasn't wireless cause it was so stupid cheap. Anyone?

Hmmm... well now after applying the 25 off 150 coupon, the 10% did not show up. I would really like to get that extra 10% off.. because I think it would still be a good deal.

Yeah I think the 10% off just does not apply anymore to this type of product. If you go to Dell's current specials ( or whatever it is called) it shows 10%off some stuff like printers and scanners, but not general products.

I also checked most of the "deal" sites and see no other coupons for dell. Well other then like 2% from ebates.

When I went through ebates it showed that a 10% off coupon was available (gave it there) but...

The exact same Linksys BEFW11S4 shows as
$200 in the home side of dell periphials
and
$170 in the business side.

On the business side they are showing free shipping and 15% off, BUT it will not allow me to add that $25 off coupon that USE to be stackable. I think because the $25 off coupon is for the home side.

This is nuts.

RedMullet if you activate personal messages I send you a mail with a test you can do and try sharing DSL with your friend before hand.

Or drop me a PM and I answer.

Linksys router is fine for a small home. If you live in a 12 bedroom 8 bath, with 6 car garage, go for the Lucent cuz your goan need the external antena that you can get for it. just be ready to pay a lot more. My 2 cents. Also, if you get the sony card for $50, you can get an antena for the card itself cuz it has a jack for it.

Ok, supposedly :( my order never went through, i called them and they told me to reorder it. I have my web page ocnfirmation and they said that they need e-mail confirmation which i never got :( So, Should I STILL get this if i can get the same price of 149.24 with taxes and everything or should I get a package elsewhere? I mean is this router worth the hassle with Dell (i'm on the phone, still holding)
Thanks
