Up late doing DiffyQ, I was watching Carson Daly's crappy late night show.. . Kid Rock was on.. I figure 'eh' cause' I never really thought of him as decent at singing..

But then he broke out playing Sweet Home Alabama, Old Time Rock n' Roll, and some other jams and he actually did them damn well. I have new respect for that mulletheaded redneck.


Reminds me of the time when Bob Sagat was on Howerd Stern...
 
I like Kid Rock.

I listen to his music before I go into my lectures. Strangely enough, my choice of music tend to be pop in general.

Well.. I guess.

I stopped listening to the radio for years, so I wouldn't know.

I meant "pop" as in Christina Aguilera and J. Lo. But then everybody defines "pop" differently.
 
his songs sound all the same to me but I think he might have some musical talent. I saw him perform live on TV and he was picking up and playing 4 or 5 different instruments.

brxndxn, I didn't catch the MTV show, I never catch ANY music on MTV these days, but I like Kid Rock and I do think he has talent. When you listen to his slower songs you can see his singing ability. Just my $0.02.
 
I have to admit, just initial opinion he seemed like kind of a slimy idiot, but a friend (whose opinion I trust) saw him on some talk show and said he seemed relatively coherent and intelligent during the interview, so I guess maybe my first snap judgement was wrong.....go figure. Always have liked his music though 🙂

I do get a kick out of his burgening gut though, nothing like a tight white t shirt over a gut on a skinny guy to emphasize that low class look. :-Q
 
he plays the white trash thing, but in reality he was never brought up that way. He's from an upper-middle class area.

I guess that's just his way of 'keepin it real.' If he were some 9-5 blue collar guy making a decent living in the suburbs of Detroit, he'd still be wearing the same wife beater 🙂

Ok, I see your problem. While doing diff. eq. a prostate exam with a broomstick wouldn't sound half bad, so I can see how your vision was clouded. 😉
 
He will be headlining the Beale Street Music Fest in May. All other bands will be announced in March. It takes place the first weekend in May on the banks of MS River in Memphis. You need to check it out if you can. Sold out all three days last year.

Went last year. It was AMAZING. I'd go again this year, but I'm going to be in London. 🙂 and 🙁

P.S. If you're in the right mood, Kid Rock can sound very nice.
 
I like that Cowboy song and some others, but did you see him singing Sweet Emotion with Aerosmith on the RR hall of fame last year? He sucked eggs. Not as bad as Fred Durst with Wish you were here, but close.
