well i figured i just got my DSL (thank god) and wanted to see some real speed... 😉 just an excuse to get it but, i still wanted to help support the forums..
 
got a 1-year about a month ago just to support the forums (and enjoy some nice speed). Plus no more threat of pop-ups.

This forum has pop-ups? Funny.. I have them turned off in Mozilla and I never noticed..

I have AtGuard + Proxomitron.

I have not seen ANY banner ads NOR popups ANYWHERE (including these boards) in a long time.

And I am not paying anyone to remove the advertising that I never asked to download in the first place.

The Internet is a pull medium, not a push medium. The surfer decides what to download and what not to download. The surfer decides whether to download each ad or not. He can also delegate such choices to software using regular expressions. It is NOT possible to charge a surfer for the priviege of not seeing ads, he can do that himself.

well i guess the speed is the best feature, i don't really think the search is thast much better... but still 🙂
 
Considering all the transactions, trades, and hot deals I've made on Anandtech, and the money I've saved (as opposed to eBay fees)...I thought the fees were well worth it 😀
