Before you do ANYTHING, get an insurance quote on it.

I was quoted over $10,000 a year for a 300ZX TT.

Viper, I meant to make that the topic of the thread 😱 forgot though - I was wondering about how much insurance would be, or any websites out there that will give me a quote. Radeon, I'll have the cash 🙂 The reason it's so cheap is because he just got an astronomical speeding ticket (83 in a 45 :Q) and he's being forced to get rid of the car.

IIRC you aren't that old... Somewhere around my age. Insurance will be expensive as hell.

Viper, I'm 18, my record is clean except for one moving violation, and I'm a student (only working during the summer as it stands now). I know it's gonna be high, but I'm just looking for a figure.
 
It's either geico or progressive that will give you an esitmate over the web. Can't remember which.

Whichever one it was though, was waaaay higher than I'm currently paying, so consider it the higher end of what you'll be looking at 🙂

Go to Progressive to get a rough ballpark, if they'll even give you a quote. You may need to call them to get one.

I'm not kidding on the $10K quote, I was 18 years old with one at-fault accident at the time. $10,000 per year for a ;94 300ZX TT - More than the car would be worth EVERY YEAR in insurance.

What was your moving violation? Speeding?

you can get away with liablity on that car.. shoundt be much.

however your 18.. so I am sure that will be thru the roof too.

I am thinking when I make some "disposable cash' I will get a 300ZXTT.. oh well that is a dream as of now.

I was searching auto trader.. and the lowest price I have found a 94 model with comparable miles to be selling for over 12K (private seller).. and a dealership is selling it for 10K..


check before purchase.
 
good guy- I figured I'd hear that from someone (not that I'm doubting it). The kid's dad is a mechanic so I'm sure he's checked up on it many times. And like I said, he HAS to get rid of this car, so he just wants enough to put in the bank cause he has a 2nd car.

For liability only I'd guess $4,500, maybe a little more.

If the ticket is on his record, he didn't go to traffic school.

i just did a quote for myself for a 94 300ZX, cheapest insurance was $4384 a year(canadian) that's with a clean record and 3 months of driving by myself(i'm 17, got my G2 in february)

oh, and this is for $1 000 000 liability, no collision or comprehensive
 
I'm 24 with a SPOTLESS driving record.

I was quoted $2,966CDN / year. That's double what i'm paying on my 2002 VW. :Q If I drop everything but $1,000,000 liability, it drops to $1,415CDN / year, which isn't quite so bad.

Iono, 18 spotless record. No tickets or anything. Cept 5 parking tickets... Damn you UCD!!!

Current car: 93 Camry LE 600+ a year.
